Preparing for your pet sitter . . .
  • When your pet sitter comes for the interview, be sure to have a working house keys for them.
  • Make sure your reservations with your pet sitter are made early, especially during holidays.
  • Ensure that your pet is well socialized and allows strangers to handle them.
  • Make sure current id tags are on pets collars.
  • Maintain current vaccinations for your pet.
  • Leave clear instructions detailing specific pet care responsibilities and emergency contact information, including how to reach you and your veterinarian.
  • Leave a sufficient amount of pet food supplies in one place.
  • Leave paper towels and cleaning supplies out.
  • Leave a key with a trustworthy friend as a backup, and give him/her and your pet sitter each others phone numbers. Be sure those extra keys work before giving them out.
  • Have a safe trip, and remember to bring your pet sitters' phone number in case your plans change, or you just want to check up on your babies. For those clients that have email access while away, please don't hesitate to email me for an update on your pet.     WWW.LIZ@A-1PETCOMPANIONSLLC.COM
  • Make sure that all gates are closed securely.
  • If pet is to be taken for a walk, please make sure dog leash is left in a conspicuous spot.
